At SCS, we have two recesses each day and students do go outside for both of them. Should it be lightly raining during recess break we will be outside. Students are advised to dress for the weather. A rain jacket and/or an umbrella and splash pants are helpful to enjoy the outdoors when it is wet.
We will aim to be outside as much as possible. However, if there is a chance of lightning or if it is pouring we will remain indoors for recess.
During the winter months we can have some very cold days and we encourage all families to send appropriate outdoor play clothing (boots, snow pants, hats, mitts, warm jackets) that are labelled with your child's name. If you are in need of any warm clothing for your children, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school.
Our goal is to enjoy the outdoors and get fresh air whenever we can.
